I see this often in the nurses I work with.
They’re experienced. Capable. Deeply committed.
And at the same time:
burned out, but not ready to walk away
disconnected from the purpose that once drove them
unsure what growth even looks like anymore
Not because they lack direction—
But because the way they’ve been working is no longer sustainable.
When Staying Starts to Feel Harder Than Leaving
Healthcare is a field that asks a lot.
Not just physically—but emotionally, mentally, and relationally.
Over time, many professionals begin to experience:
chronic stress and emotional fatigue
disconnection from meaning and purpose
limited pathways for growth that feel aligned
And yet—many don’t want to leave.
They want to:
stay in healthcare
grow into new roles
lead differently
reconnect with why they started
But they don’t always know how to get there.
