Health Equity Book Circles
Welcome!
More than a traditional book club, they are live, virtual conversations for healthcare professionals, nonprofit leaders, advocates, and changemakers who care deeply about equity and justice.
Together, we reflect on how story, history, and lived experience shape healthcare practice and systems and how we show up ethically within them.
Open to all equity-minded professionals. This is a community building free event.
Organized into two distinct themed six-session series. Participants may attend individual sessions or complete a full series.
Stories That Heal: Trust, Bias & Belonging in Healthcare*
Systems That Change: Structures of Inequity & Paths to Justice*
Circle Model & Session Format
Our Health Equity Book Circles are lightly facilitated by Tahitia Timmons.
Her role is to open the space, guide the flow of conversation, and ensure alignment with the session theme and continuing education requirements.
The circle itself is intentionally non-hierarchical.
A circle has no head - everyone sits at the same level.
Participants are invited to share reflections, questions, and lived experience. There is no expectation to teach, present, or perform. Your perspective is contribution enough.
Sessions are held live via Zoom
7:30–8:30 PM EST (the second Tuesday of the month)
Each session is 60 minutes and discussion-based.
Participation is free, however registration is required for each session
Confidentiality
To protect participant safety and candor, sessions are live only.
Recordings will not be made or shared.
Each session is limited to 10 participants to support meaningful dialogue and psychological safety.
Continuing Education Credit
Each series is approved for 6.0 contact hours.
Each individual session is eligible for 1.0 contact hour.
To receive contact hours, participants must:
-
Attend the live session
-
Complete the required session evaluation
Participants may earn up to 6.0 contact hours per series by attending all six sessions.
Partial credit is awarded commensurate with participation.
