What Is a Coaching Framework?
A coaching framework is the structured approach a coach uses to guide and support their clients. It includes the core principles, methodologies, and values that shape the coaching experience. Every coaching practice is unique, and it's important to find a framework and coach whose style aligns with your personal goals and needs. When selecting a coach, consider asking about their coaching style, how they approach their work, and the methods they utilize. Finding the right match can significantly enhance your coaching journey.
Our Coaching Framework
Incorporate a Trauma Informed Approach
We understand that trauma is a shared human experience and recognize the importance of distinguishing between trauma-aware, trauma-sensitive, and trauma-informed approaches. A trauma-aware practice recognizes trauma's prevalence; trauma-sensitive coaching adapts coaching interactions with an understanding of trauma's impacts, while trauma-informed coaching fully integrates this awareness into every aspect of practice. Our coaching practice actively incorporates principles of social determinants of health (SDOH) and equity to uniquely shape our trauma-informed coaching approach. We foster an environment of safety, trust, transparency, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity, actively preventing re-traumatization. Importantly, we are coaches, not therapists—we do not diagnose or treat psychological disorders or provide therapy, but we do offer compassionate guidance and structured support toward resilience and personal growth.
Health Equity and Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)
We see beyond the individual to the broader context, actively working to overcome barriers stemming from systemic inequities like housing, education, nutrition, transportation, and economic opportunities. We assist clients through personalized, SMARTIE goal-setting that leads to equitable, lasting health and wellness outcomes.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)
Every client deserves to feel fully seen, heard, and valued. We embrace and celebrate diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives, creating intentional practices that ensure every client genuinely feels included, respected, and empowered throughout their coaching experience.
Anti-Capitalist Principles
We challenge the pressures of constant productivity and perfectionism, instead prioritizing collaboration, community-oriented support, and authentic growth. Our equitable pricing models reflect our deep commitment to accessibility, justice, and dignity, particularly for historically marginalized communities.
Intercultural Competence
Our coaching helps clients navigate intercultural dynamics with empathy, openness, and adaptability. We facilitate deep cultural self-awareness and effective communication, enabling clients to thrive personally and professionally in diverse environments.
Community and Peer Support
We recognize the transformative power of community and peer support. Our coaching empowers clients to explore and determine the level of community interaction and support they desire, often inspiring clients to independently seek resources that can further support their growth.

Note:
While coaching provides a powerful pathway to personal and professional development, it is not therapy.
Coaching focuses on identifying and achieving goals, creating meaningful change, and enhancing overall well-being.
It does not diagnose or treat mental health disorders or deep psychological trauma.
If you require mental health treatment or therapeutic intervention, coaching may not be the appropriate choice, and professional therapeutic support should be sought.
Who Coaches You Matters
Because coaching at Conscious By Us is not just theoretical or checkbox diversity work—it is informed by lived experience, clinical expertise, and the wisdom that comes from overcoming real-world challenges.
Meet Tahitia: Your Coach, Advocate, and Guide
Hi,
I’m Tahitia Timmons (she/her) – a Black, Queer, Autistic woman living with chronic illness who happens to be an award-winning nurse leader, parent, and certified coach. Like you, I’m beautifully imperfect.
I used to think sharing my story was self-promotion. Now I understand it’s how we connect.
My path to coaching wasn’t planned. It emerged from my own struggle to make sense of a career in healthcare, parenthood as a single mother, and navigating systems that weren’t designed for people like me. What I discovered changed everything: these parts of our lives aren’t separate – they’re deeply interconnected.
Truth in Wholeness
When I became serious about understanding my own wellbeing, I couldn’t ignore how health equity shaped my experience. The intersections of my identities weren’t theoretical concepts – they were lived realities affecting my access, opportunities, and how I showed up in the world.
This understanding transformed how I approach resilience, boundaries, and what it truly means to thrive rather than just survive.
Beyond Credentials
Yes, I bring professional certifications – Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Certified Diversity Executive (CDE®), and Certified Professional Diversity Coach (CPDC). My background spans nursing, management, publishing, and DEI leadership.
But what matters more is what I’ve lived: raising two incredible children while managing chronic illness, navigating healthcare as both provider and patient, transforming the challenges of being neurodivergent in neurotypical spaces into strengths all while attempting to thrive as a Black Queer woman in the United States.
Coach Partnership in Growth
Coaching isn’t about having all the answers – it’s about creating space for your wisdom to emerge. When we work together, you’re partnering with someone who understands struggle not from textbooks, but from lived experience.
I won’t promise quick fixes or perfect solutions. What I offer instead is authentic presence, hard-won insights, and a commitment to holding space for your whole self – not just the parts that fit neatly into professional frameworks.
If this resonates with you – this belief that our fullest potential emerges when we honor all aspects of who we are – I invite you to connect. Together, we’ll explore what thriving means for you.
